A production-used third draft screenplay, dated December 1 1981, for Revenge of the Jedi. This script was the working copy used by a production manager throughout the making of the film, and as such it is extensively annotated. The script bears original embossed Lucasfilm script covers and security stamps in red ink. Numerous revision pages on yellow and pink paper were inserted into the script as production went on. The original (white) pages they replaced were moved to the back of the script, so an additional 25+ pages are present which document the progression of the screenplay through different revisions. The annotation and mark-up on the script relates to location work in the redwoods, as well as work at ILM. Effects shots, prop requirements, blue screen shots, stunt work, 2nd unit work, and other elements are covered in the extensive annotations. The markings are done in pen, yellow and blue highlighter, and pencil. There are also continuity notes written for select scenes on the back of pages, which denote camera lens and aperture used. The script differs to the final film in several ways--Anakin is not present in the "ghost lineup" at the end of the film, and Luke does not tell Leia she is his sister. This exceptionally rare screenplay remains in great production-used condition.
