An Ewok head mask created using Stuart Freeborn's original production components from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Ewoks helped the Rebel Alliance defeat the Galactic Empire during the climactic battle on the forest moon of Endor.

Legendary make-up artist Stuart Freeborn, who also oversaw the creation of other iconic characters such as Yoda, Chewbacca and Jabba the Hutt, was the original creator of the Ewoks. Known as the "grandfather of modern make-up design," Freeborn was nominated for a BAFTA for his work on the film with Phill Tippett, and additionally won a Saturn Award in 1984.

This head was created with original production-made components from Freeborn's workshop such as the foam face and foam ears, while the teeth were cast from the original molds. The mask was completed with reproduction amber-colored acrylic eyes, pepper gray faux fur, and a custom-made brown leather hood. It has a polyfoam head structure for support and is accompanied by a custom display stand. This mask was assembled by the FX and restoration experts at Tom Spina Designs. This lot exhibits some mild pitting in the foam from age. Dimensions: 10" x 9" x 17.5" (25.5 cm x 23 cm x 44.5 cm)
