A full-size, adjustable shutter for Jabba the Hutt's sail barge, the Khetanna, from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Jabba and his posse brought Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) out to the Great Pit of Carkoon in the Dune Sea of Tatooine on his massive, shutter-covered barge to be slowly digested by the Sarlacc over 1,000 years.

Production created both model miniature and full-size versions of the Khetanna, with the full-size barge set erected in Buttercup Valley in Yuma, Arizona. Production designer Norman Reynolds, art directors Fred Hole and James L. Schoppe, and set decorator Michael Ford ultimately shared an Academy Award® nomination for Best Art Direction-Set Direction for their designs.

This metal-hinged shutter was recovered directly from the Buttercup Valley set while it was undergoing teardown in July 1982. While small, often damaged fragments from the teardown sometimes appear on the collectors market, this is among the most complete set pieces from the full-size barge ever to surface, with an exceptionally rare intact and functional handle allowing the slats to be raised or lowered.

It is constructed from wood hand-numbered "13 " on front and back to indicate its corresponding position on the barge. The shutter shows evidence of intentional distressing by production to appear weathered by the Dune Sea elements together with wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age, including nicking and cracked and fractured corners.
