An opened "C-3PO's" cereal box and a flattened cereal box from the promotion of Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Produced by Kellogg's in 1984 alongside a series of live-action commercials, "C-3PO's" were honey-sweetened double-O-shaped cereal pieces, which Anthony Daniels referred to as "C-3P8's", due to their figure-of-eight shape.
The opened cardboard cereal box includes a cut-out mask of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) on its back, while the flattened version features a cut-out mask of C-3PO (Daniels). Both boxes exhibit crease lines and tears from opening and use. Dimensions (opened): 29.5 cm x 19 cm x 6.5 cm (11.75" x 7.5" x 2.5") (flattened): 38 cm x 25.5 cm (15" x 10")
Additional Provenance:
This lot comes from the personal collection of actor Anthony Daniels. Daniels plays loyal protocol droid C-3PO in the Star Wars saga. He first appeared in the role in 1977 and is the only actor to appear in all Star Wars feature films to date.
