A sheet of thumbnail sketches of an Endor landing platform hand-drawn by legendary franchise artist Ralph McQuarrie for his Return of the Jedi Portfolio. McQuarrie was asked to complete several painted illustrations for the Portfolio after finishing his concept design work for Jedi, including an illustration of an Imperial Walker on Endor.

McQuarrie is widely known for his signature small thumbnail sketches, which he used to work out compositions for scenes. Widely considered one of the seminal Star Wars artists, McQuarrie designed the look of Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, and countless other elements of the original film. McQuarrie was one of Lucas's first collaborators on Star Wars and created numerous concept sketches and production paintings used to convey Lucas' vision to those working on the film, and later used to market it. Original artwork by McQuarrie is exceedingly rare and sought after by collectors.

These thumbnails depicting the Walker, an Imperial shuttle, and Lord Vader on Endor are rendered in graphite on drawing paper. The paper exhibits stray ink markings, yellowing, and a central fold line. Dimensions: 11.25" x 17.5" (28.75 cm x 44.5 cm)
