A production-made A-Wing pilot helmet from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. A-Wing fighter pilots of the Rebel Alliance wore their distinctive helmets during the climactic Battle of Endor as they attempted to destroy the second Death Star.

Two new Rebel starfighters - the A-Wing and B-Wing - were introduced for the final instalment of the original Star Wars trilogy, bringing the total to four distinct fighter types, each with a unique pilot uniform. Costume designer Nilo Rodis-Jamero assigned specific colours to differentiate the pilots on screen. Each outfit consisted of a coverall jumpsuit, a chest pack based on the Rebel pilot design for A New Hope, and a newly created helmet. Each helmet was individually distressed and decorated with unique insignia.

This helmet was originally created during production but was unfinished, not being given the arch-like top component, and was ultimately unused during filming. Some of the paintwork was likely applied during production, with additional paint detailing completed post-production. The helmet is constructed of vacuum-formed plastic painted green and white, with line decals, a beige leatherette trim, loose wiring connected to a metal plug, and a prop microphone. Black nylon webbing secures a white plastic chin cup. The lot exhibits light paint wear, scuffing and pulls to the nylon webbing.
