An "Ewok/Speeder Bike Battle" printed location storyboard binder from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. After Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is rescued from Jabba the Hutt the rebels head to Endor, home to the Ewoks who are little bear-like creatures native to the forest moon, to destroy the new Death Star.
Producer Howard Kazanjian created the production codename "Blue Harvest" and pretended to be working on a horror film to preserve secrecy around the set and to drive lower prices for certain production services. The final film of the original Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi earned $374 million at the global box office in its initial release, making it the highest-grossing film of 1983.
This lot originated from the personal collection of Howard Kazanjian. It consists of a 262-page cardstock binder of printed storyboards, including inserted printed storyboard sections in the first few pages, a total of 19 labeled sections, and correspondence pages printed on "Blue Harvest" letterhead. The front of the cardstock cover features a "Revenge of the Jedi" vinyl stickers with Yoda in the center and labeled "Ewok/Speeder Bike Battle." These storyboards are shorted based on shooting days with the smaller thumbnail storyboards for the Yuma location and the larger storyboards for the Redwoods National Forest location.
