Richard Edlund's 35mm Mitchell NC camera accessories case from the production of George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy. Academy Award®-winner Edlund utilized high-tech Mitchell cameras throughout his career as a VFX supervisor, with this vintage-era case used to carry camera equipment for the miniatures unit of Star Wars: A New Hope, on which Edlund served as first cameraman. Edlund also created special visual effects for the film's sequels, with this case believed to have been used throughout their productions and possibly later films on which Edlund worked.

This custom locking Mitchell case numbered "#411" and "R. Edlund" comes from the collection of Edlund. It contains several vintage camera accessories, including a Melles Griot 04 IES 005 electronic shutter, 10 multicolor gels (including some hand-numbered), and a box for the gels hand-marked "R. Edlund." The exterior is applied with stickers for "The Star Wars," A New Hope's original title, and "Pignose," a reference to the famous portable guitar amplifier Edlund co-designed with Wayne Kimball. The case exhibits tearing on its leather handle and grime throughout from age and use. Dimensions: 20.5" x 9.5" x 19.5" (52 cm x 24.25 cm x 49.5 cm)
