Our expert's notes

An original Phil Shearer design depicting an ASN-121 Assassin Droid from the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Clawdie Assassin Zam Wesell (Leeanna Walsman) loaded an ASN-121 droid with poisonous kouhun, which it injected into Padme's (Natalie Portman) bedroom. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) then held onto the droid as it flew through Coruscant's sky lanes, back to Wesell.

The film's credited concept artist, Phil Shearer, rendered this piece over a CAD file, adding details using Photoshop and further embellishments with a combination of pencil, ink and gouache. The piece was then handed to the production designer Gavin Bocquet's team for the golden color to be added. From this final design, the droid was constructed. Shearer has signed the piece with black ink. Dimensions: 16.75" x 12.75" (42.5 cm x 32.25 cm)
