A photocopy of a full-length blueprint of R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) made for the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. The AOTC art department used this photocopy of an original blueprint drawn by draughtsman Peter Childs during production on Star Wars: A New Hope, then known as "The Star Wars," as a reference for R2-D2 during production.
The blueprint depicts a full-length rear-profile of R2-D2 and features labels and design notes dated "20-1-76." It provides a unique insight into the creation of the galaxy's most beloved droid. The photocopy has wear from use and storage, including tears and creasing down the edges. Dimensions: 53.25" x 35.75" (138.5 cm x 91 cm)
Phil Shearer is a Sydney-based production designer and concept artist with an international career spanning more than 30 years across film, television and visual effects. Trained as an industrial designer, he specialises in creating environments, vehicles, props, costumes and worlds that merge narrative impact with technical credibility. His work bridges practical model making, illustration and virtual design, reflecting a deep commitment to both craft and innovation. Beyond his film design practice, Shearer is an exhibited artist, photographer and model maker. He is also a mentor and educator, fostering collaboration and new approaches within art departments.
