A Roger Christian Signature Edition replica of a hero-style Tusken Raider gaffi stick from George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope created by Regal Robot. For the 1977 film, revered set decorator and propmaker Roger Christian crafted gaderffiis, the signature melee weapon of Tatooine's deadly Tusken Raiders better known as gaffi sticks. Christian later received an Academy Award® for his work on the film.
This is one of only 150 gaderffii replicas made in the US for the extremely limited and long sold-out Roger Christian Signature Edition from Regal Robot's Star Wars Archive Collection line. The replica is based on a high-resolution 3D scan and hand-on examination of the original hero filming weapon in the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Archives at Skywalker Ranch.
Ornately detailed to faithfully recreate the sticks seen in the film, this stick features a solid-cast heavy polyurethane base section hand-painted and stained to simulate woodgrain, as well as a cast metal spike mounted to a welded steel tube and fins. The metal section is intentionally and elaborately distressed to appear aged and well-used.
Also included is a metal Signature Edition plaque hand-numbered "148" and hand-signed by Christian; a custom wooden display stand; and the replica's original double-corrugated Regal Robot shipping box with die-cut EPS foam inserts. Dimensions: (boxed) 12" x 12" x 40" (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm x 101.75 cm)
