A concept sketch hand-drawn by production illustrator Ralph McQuarrie for his matte painting study illustration "Death Star Docking Trench #2" from the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. McQuarrie painted the final matte painting based on the "Docking Trench #2" illustration circa December 1976.

This concept sketch depicting the Millennium Falcon entering the Death Star and labeled "at 100' tower far wall" is rendered in graphite and orange pencil on vellum. It is also featured on page 150 of the Abrams publication Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie. The vellum exhibits some yellowing from age and minor edge wear. Dimensions: 16" x 11.5" (40.75 cm x 29.25 cm)
