A production-used "The Star Wars" VFX storyboard binder from the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. VFX sequences were planned out in storyboard form during pre-production, and this represents one of the earliest iterations of the VFX boards.

This lot comes from the collection of the film's advertising and publicity supervisor Charles "Charley" Lippincott. It consists of a red three-ring binder containing 170 printed storyboards from the early stages of the project, when it was still titled "The Star Wars." Sequences depicted include the opening title, a Star Destroyer chasing the Rebel blockade runner, TIE-fighters chasing the Millennium Falcon, and the destruction of the Death Star. The binder and pages within exhibit minimal wear from use and age, mostly around the edges and corners. Dimensions: 11.5" x 11.5" x 2" (29.25 cm x 29.25 cm x 5.25 cm)

Included with this lot is an original brochure printed for the 2016 convention MidAmeriCon 2 (“MAC II”) which re-united Gary Kurtz, Alan Dean Foster, Marc Pevers, and Gary Kurtz. The brochure, titled “Kismet or The Force Awakens”, was written by Ken Keller who was the original Chairman of MidAmeriCon when Lippincott put together a Star Wars display in September 1976. The article recalls details of that pre-release convention, and sets the stage for the 2016 MAC II reunion.
