A Duros hand from George Lucas’ sci-fi classic Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. The Duros appeared in a corner booth in the iconic cantina scene. After principal photography, George Lucas decided to reshoot the cantina scene with more aliens, so Phil Tippett joined Rick Baker’s makeup department to help them make additional creatures for the scene, including the Duros.

This Duros hand is made of slip cast latex, painted green and molded into the shape of a large hand with three knuckles on each long, slender finger. The inside of the hands are padded with soft foam and metal rings form the structure of each finger. The hand is split up the back to fit the hand, and a strip of Velcro once held the two sides together but has since come unglued from one side.

The hand features some wear due to age and production use, such as cracks in the latex around some knuckles, but the lot remains in overall good condition. Dimensions: 18” x 10” x 3” (46 cm x 25 cm x 8 cm)
