A piece of the Death Star model used in the 1977 sci-fi adventure Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. This is one of the smaller pieces created by ILM modelmakers for use in creating the large filming miniature of the Death Star surface. Many interlocking abstract pieces were made, this particular piece being formed using biscuit foam construction and painted and detailed to the high ILM standard. The piece measures 7.5cm x 7.5cm and has some slight wear but is overall in fantastic condition.
Along with this piece of the iconic space station is a signed original production used storyboard copy which came from a complete set created for the visual effects sequences, which included everything from miniature ships in the sky to the rotoscopic effects of lasers firing from the Death Star’s gun turrets - a truly fantastic and rare insight into the making of the movie at such an early stage of the production.

This particular page is depicting the moment in which Gold Squadron approached surface of the Death Star in their bombing run. The shot number is 250 and there is a description of the scene underneath the illustration. It is printed on yellow-coloured A4 paper and is hole punched at the bottom from where it was grouped in sequence, forming a comprehensive shot by shot miniature version of the movie’s spectacular and ground breaking effects. It has also been signed by the legendary Robert Watts who also served as producer on the Indiana Jones Trilogy and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

This awesome item from the Star Wars universe comes custom framed with a laser cut mount board featuring the film’s title artwork and an opening front panel allowing direct access to the piece. A fantastic collector’s piece for fans of the series.
