This complete set of eight lobby cards from the first film in the STAR WARS franchise is from the first printing, as indicated by the number in the lower right corner. All eight cards are in outstanding condition. Also included is a complete set of eight lobby cards from the second printing of the film's lobby card set, as indicated by the number in the lower right corner. In overall excellent condition, two of the cards display creases of various sizes around the perimeter. The grade shown is an average of the group.

George Lucas conceived "Star Wars" after "THX 1138" (1971) and developed it following "American Graffiti" (1973). Filming began in March 1976 in Tunisia and England, with Lucas founding Industrial Light & Magic for the visual effects. Despite going $3 million over budget and doubts from cast and crew, the film became one of the most influential ever, launching a global pop culture phenomenon with novels, comics, games, merchandise, and theme park attractions.
