One Sheets (2) (27" x 41", 27" x 40"); "Star Wars Is Back" Style + Spanish Language Style ;
Very Fine; Artwork by Tom Jung, Greg and Tim Hildebrandt
20th Century Fox, 1997, R-1982
Issued for the film's 1982 theatrical re-release and designed by Tom Jung, which included a sneak-peek at the next film in the saga and entitled "Revenge of the Jedi," this example is rolled in excellent condition, displaying only small creases in the bottom of the side borders and a scratch in the lower credits area. Also included is a one sheet printed in the US for the Spanish-speaking market, which features title treatments in both Spanish and English. It was professionally linen-backed with expert touch-ups applied to the folds, and the borders display some airbrushing, mainly at the ends of the folds to address light wear, separation, and a small chip in one border. Additionally, the center of the white field has been airbrushed along the vertical fold. Notably, this is the only US-printed poster featuring artwork by the Hildebrandt Brothers, which many consider the best design from this groundbreaking film. The grade shown is an average of the two posters.
Many "Star Wars" films have been re-released in theaters and on home media, often with changes made by creator George Lucas. These ranged from minor edits, like color grading and sound mixing, to major additions, including new dialogue, characters, and effects. The original trilogy saw the most revisions, though the prequels were also updated. Lucas stated the changes either aligned the films more with his original vision or improved continuity with later entries.
