A full-head Klingon mask from Nicholas Meyer's Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. After being framed for the assassination of Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner) of the Klingon High Council, James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley) were put on trial in a Klingon-filled chamber. Full-head masks were used during that scene where dozens of extras had to be dressed as Klingons without enduring the lengthy, complex makeup process used for actors in more prominently-seen Klingon roles.
The Undiscovered Country was the top-grossing film of its opening weekend and the largest opening weekend gross of the Star Trek series so far. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards® and is the only Star Trek film to win the Saturn Award® for Best Science-Fiction Film.
This latex mask features holes in the mouth, nostrils, and eyes, with painted skin and punched hair in the top of the head above the ridged Klingon forehead, eyebrows, and jaw. Fastening strips on the rear aid in slipping the mask on and off. The lot shows evidence of intentional production distressing together with wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age; including cracking around the eyes.
