Admiral James T. Kirk's "Memory Wall" stunt space helmet from Robert Wise's Star Trek: The Motion Picture. An unfinished sequence that was partially filmed but not completed with the lavish effects it required, known as the "Memory Wall" sequence, featured an alternate spacewalk for Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy), in which they wore spacesuits and helmets different from those they wore in the final spacewalk sequence that eventually replaced it. A segment referred to as "Kirk Follows Spock," that depicted Kirk being helped into his spacesuit and leaving the airlock (his spacesuit jarringly changing to the final version between shots), was included in the "Special Longer Version" of the film and in some releases' deleted scenes.

This fiberglass helmet features a white exterior, black interior, metal embellishments, an open front where a visor would have been attached, and a hand-marked tape label inside reading "#1 Couch" for Shatner's stunt performer William "Bill" Couch. It exhibits scuffing, paint chipping, and cracking from use and age.
