A full-size, light-up Genesis device from Nicholas Meyer's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. This experimental terraforming technology drives the film's plot: Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalban) learns of the device after capturing Captain Terrell (Paul Winfield) and Commander Chekov (Walter Koenig). Kirk (William Shatner) and his landing party later discover it aboard Regula I, left behind as part of Khan's trap. Khan ultimately sets the device to overload in a final act of vengeance, prompting Spock (Leonard Nimoy) to sacrifice himself to save the Enterprise.

The only known Genesis device in existence and originating from a former employee of Paramount Pictures, this lot consists of a clear acrylic tube decorated in the exterior with vinyl stickers of a circuit board. The interior is filled with acrylic and metal components that anchor the lights. This capsule lights up when plugged in, illuminating the multicolor lights along the top and bottom. A separate button illuminates the central chamber with a soft white light. All of the lights and wiring are original with only the power source being replaced for functionality. The central chamber generates heat and should not be used for long periods of time. This lot exhibits minor restoration to the decorative pieces along the exterior's bottom and grime throughout.
