A light-up U.S.S. Defiant model miniature from the sci-fi series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The Defiant (NX-74205) was assigned to Deep Space Nine, where it remained throughout series, to counter the growing aggression of the Dominion. The Defiant also appeared in Star Trek: First Contact. Designed by illustrator Jim Martin with additions by Doug Drexler, this ornate studio model miniature is constructed primarily of paneled resin painted gray and blue and applied with multiple decals of red stripes, yellow deltas, registry number "NX-74205," and "U.S.S. Defiant." Orange, blue, and white LED lights are inset throughout the structure's front, sides, and back, with a functional electronics kit concealed inside the body via panels on the underside. The model comes mounted to a metal display pole inset to a wooden base. Also included are the original Defiant storage crate, electronics box, electronics crate, and a plastic baggie of spare parts from production. It exhibits visible signs of production use and storage, including black grime stains, lifting to several panels, and a missing panel.
