MI5 Headquarters Plaque

An MI5 headquarters plaque from the British television spy drama Spooks (2002-2011).

This plaque would have been used as part of the set for Thames House, the MI5 headquarters where the officers are based, a location that featured in many episodes throughout the ten series. The plaque is made using various sized MDF pieces and metal hooks attached at the back, allowing the piece to be attached easily to the set. The sides and front of the plaque are covered in layers of plaster and painted light grey, creating the appearance of stone. A square piece of plaster adorns the front and displays a moulded MI5 crest. The back of the plaque features strips of LED lights around the outer edge, with the wires connected to a metal box via some screws.

Pieces of plaster on the crest have broken off, revealing the true colour of the plaster and the paint finish has started to wear off. The plaque remains in good production used condition.
