Scene Reference: A Margaret Thatcher puppet from Peter Fluck, Roger Law and Martin Lambie-Nairn’s satirical television series Spitting Image. Portrayed as a masculine tyrant, the ‘Iron Lady’ was the most notable character within the show having featured in nearly every episode up until her resignation in 1990. Thatcher was often seen wearing suits, smoking cigars and bullying members of her cabinet. Puppets of Thatcher were remade for every series, gradually becoming more sinister looking as she became more unhinged as each series progressed.
