A clapperboard used in the production of the Marvel action adventure Spiderman 3. With Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) losing himself in his duties as Spider-Man, the emergence of the New Goblin (James Franco), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and a mysterious alien symbiote named Venom (Topher Grace) push Parker and his relationship with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) to the limit.
A clapperboard is one of the most iconic and memorable aspects of the movie making industry. For decades this has been a vital piece of equipment that enables not just sound and image to be synchronised, but to also advise the viewer of the raw footage the exact details of the upcoming shot. The simple monochromatic device has become a symbolic image synonymous with films, and is still used to this day.

Well used on the production of the film, this medium-sized clapperboard has the title “Spider-Man 3” printed along the top with the name of director Sam Raimi and DoP Bill Pope printed at the bottom. Spaces in the boxes above are present to write in marker the roll, scene and take. Traces of writing are still present but are no longer legible. An image of Spider-Man is superimposed in the background of the clapper plate. The clapper stick remains firm, allowing for a sharp snap when closed.

Displaying plenty of wear from its time on use, this piece remains in very good production-used condition.
