Spider-Man suit components and patterns from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. The costume evolved during the film as Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) refined the style until he settled upon the iconic red-and-blue outfit prior to his fight against the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe).

Originating from the archives of costume designer Martin Izquierdo who specialized in the creation of wings for Broadway and film, this lot consists of 16 elasticated fabric pieces in varying sizes, onto which sections of Spider-Man's costume are printed; 14 paper fabric stencils; a cardboard sheet with five pieces of fabric samples; seven pages of handwritten notes; and six colour print photos of the costume construction. Some of the elasticated fabric pieces feature handwritten notes along the margins. This lot exhibits ink bleeds from age, discolouration, and page creases on the handwritten notes.
