Green Goblin's (as played by Willem Dafoe) hero helmet with a bodysuit from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. Deranged industrialist Norman Osborne wore his signature costume when his armoured alter-ego, Green Goblin, battled his arch nemesis, Spider-Man (as played by Tobey Maguire).
This lot consists of a hero fibreglass Green Goblin helmet with orange mesh-backed eyes hand-painted metallic green and hand-marked "No. 1" on the interior, as well as a matching green vinyl jumpsuit with fibreglass armour built onto the chest and arms and a John David Ridge costumier's tag on the interior labelled "Mr. Willem Dafoe" alongside illegible blue ink markings.
The exterior of the helmet has been touched-up with iridescent paint to create colour shifting under stage lighting, while the interior features wiring designed to illuminate lighting elements behind the eyes (though the current functionality of the wiring remains untested) as well as various fastening strips and metal fittings. While a cover plate at the rear underside of the helmet designed to mount into three posts on its top is missing, this example remains among the most complexly detailed and used Green Goblin helmets ever to come to market.
The bodysuit exhibits cracked vinyl and flaking paint from production wear and age, most visibly on the back of the neck; and the armour exhibits cracking and some splitting throughout.
Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.
