Bone Saw McGraw's (Randy "Macho Man" Savage) screen-matched ensemble from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. In costume as the "Human Spider," Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) used his new spidey powers to enter a cage match with Bone Saw, hoping that he could use the winnings to afford a new car and impress Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). In a climactic scene, however, the arena was robbed, and Peter's Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) was killed in the ensuing theft of his car. Intentional points of distress and hand-painted markings on the pants in this ensemble screen-match to when Peter knocked out Bone Saw.
Spider-Man earned $114.8 million during its opening weekend, breaking box office records and becoming the first film to gross $100 million in a single weekend. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards® and is today considered among the greatest comic book adaptations of all time.
This ornate ensemble was custom-designed for wrestling icon Randy "Macho Man" Savage, whose own real-world wrestling ensembles are today beloved by collectors and widely imitated in Halloween costumes. It consists of a pleather and spandex bodysuit; a pair of hand-painted spandex pants with stirrups; a pair of leather and metal foam sole lace-up boots; a leather and metal studded belt; a leather string necklace structured to resemble barbed wire; a pair of leather and metal studded cuffs; and a pair of leather and metal studded fingerless Hatch gloves (Size XL). This lot exhibits peeling leather on the cuffs and missing studs on the boots.
