Dot Matrix's (Lorene Yarnell Jansson) head from Mel Brooks' Spaceballs. Droid Dot Matrix accompanied Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) throughout the film as they fled the Princess' planet, Druidia, were kidnapped by the evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis), and were eventually rescued by Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his trusty sidekick Barf (John Candy).

Dot Matrix, a parody of C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) from the Star Wars franchise, was named after a popular computer printer from the 1970s. While famously voiced by Joan Rivers, the droid was physically portrayed by Jansson, one half of the mime duo Shields and Yarnell, with costumes designed by Academy Award®-nominated costume designer Donfeld. The various components were created to be switched out as they became damaged on set.

Designed to resemble Dot Matrix's robotic head, this two-piece helmet is constructed from vacuum-formed plastic with geometric lines in place of eyebrows, cheeks, and nose and a gold lame wig affixed on top. It is finished in gold-color paint, connected at the cheeks with fastening strips, applied on the interior with metal mesh eye and nostril coverings, and hand-marked "#2" in black ink. The helmet exhibits flaking paint throughout from production wear, most visibly on the interior, as well as some scratching and grime on the cheeks.
