A Production Made Angry Angel Space Flight Helmet from the 1995 television series, Space: Above and Beyond. The series follows a group of newly recruited space pilots thrown into battle when an unexpected war erupts between the human race and an unknown alien threat. This helmet features the logo of the Angry Angels, an elite squadron lost in battle in the pilot episode.
Though never seen on screen, this helmet was made for the pilot episode for use by an Angry Angel member. The helmet features the original decal from the pilot episode, though the decal design would change when the production relocated from Australia to the United States after the writer's strike in the 1980's. The helmet is made of fiberglass and painted black, now with a few minor scratches in that paint job. A clear acrylic visor can be pushed up or down to cover the entire face. Metal clasps on each side of the helmet unlatch to flip up, allowing for easy removal by the actor. The inside is lined with black fabric over foam padding. The foam inside is deteriorating but could easily be removed and replaced by a collector. The piece measures 16”x11”x11” (41cm x 28cm x 28cm) and is in good, production used condition.
