A collection of hand-drawn storyboards, blueprints and photographs of the dam set built and filmed during the climax the sci-fi fantasy Solarbabies (1986).
The collection includes six hand-drawn storyboards rendered in pencil and ink. Five are rendered on paper and one on thick card, and one storyboard features a colour photograph. Also included is an A1-sized blueprint of the dam set on brown paper before its construction; an A3 photograph of the dam set post-construction; and a rectangular photograph of the dam the set was based on. All storyboards are drawn in pencil and depict the sequence of scenes involved in the climax of the film.
In the film’s climax, the child protagonists escape the Aqua-Bunker before it explodes, and watch water gush out of the dam set.
The blueprint has a tear in one corner and there are watermarks on the card storyboard, but overall the lot remains in very good condition.
