The Hessian Horseman's (Christopher Walken) hat from Tim Burton's gothic horror Sleepy Hollow. The undead Hessian Horseman was a brutal mercenary who fought in the American Revolutionary War, but was decapitated and buried in an unmarked grave. He terrorized the denizens of Sleepy Hollow in search of his missing head.
The film was a critical and box-office success and was nominated for three Academy Awards, winning one for Best Art Direction.
This hat was made for production but ultimately was not seen in the film. The hat features an embroidered skull-and-crossbones design on the front and is designed to appear made of leather and stingray. The interior features a costume label which reads "Christopher Walken 13121 The Headless Horseman Sleepy Hollow". It has been intentionally distressed to appear well-worn.
