An extraordinary collection of 80 original hand-drawn production drawings from The Simpsons episodes "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em" (Season 18, Episode 3, 2006) and "The Wife Aquatic" (Season 18, Episode 10, 2007).
The majority of this collection focuses on one of the most inventive parody sequences in modern Simpsons history: Bart Simpson's epic duel with Principal Skinner, staged and scored to John Williams' "Duel of the Fates" from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. What begins as a petty schoolyard dispute escalates into an absurd action sequence as the pair battle using shrimp and peanuts like lightsabers, before both fall into vats of allergenic chaos.
The sequence displays some of the series' finest comic animation; expressive, energetic, and full of the exaggerated physicality that defines The Simpsons' visual humour. Each drawing, produced at Film Roman Studios, is executed in graphite on standard animation paper with full scene annotations (HABF20, scenes 282-294), including a detailed camera layout showing the composition and perspective of the action.
Additional artwork from "The Wife Aquatic" (JABF03) features Homer and Marge against a crowd scene and rough background layout from the Springfield pier, adding depth and variety to this collection.
Comprising 80 drawings in total, this is a rare and comprehensive studio archive that captures the craftsmanship, timing, and comic invention behind one of The Simpsons' most memorable action parodies.
