An original hand-painted production cel from The Simpsons episode "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace," first broadcast in 1997 during the show's ninth season. In this Christmas special, Bart accidentally burns down the family's tree and all the presents beneath it, then tries to cover it up by claiming the family was robbed. The town rallies around the Simpsons in sympathy, showering them with donations, until the truth is revealed and the festive goodwill turns to chaos!
This fabulous production cel setup of the whole family shows them gathered together in the living room, each one perfectly captured reflecting their personality. It's rare to find production artwork that features all five characters together, great expressions and poses, and this setup beautifully demonstrates their chemistry and individual quirks in one frame.
Only the first thirteen seasons of The Simpsons were created using traditional hand-painted cels, before the studio switched entirely to digital production. That makes early examples like this increasingly desirable among collectors.
Each cel was individually painted on acetate and photographed under camera to create a single frame of the show, meaning only one of each exists. This piece bears the official 20th Century Fox seal and comes framed with an autograph from Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson. A 20th Century Fox Original Animation Art Simpsons certificate of authenticity is on the back of the frame.
A wonderful and authentic piece from the golden age of The Simpsons, capturing the warmth, humour, and dysfunction that made the series a cultural icon. Dimensions (framed): 41.75 cm x 49.5 cm x 1.25 cm (16.5" x 19.5" x 0.5")
