A replica of Hannibal Lecter's (Anthony Hopkins) classic muzzle with a poster of Lecter from the promotion of Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs, both of which are autographed by Hopkins. Lecter was offered a fraudulent deal that entailed him wearing a rigid muzzle in exchange for providing FBI trainee Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) with information about Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine), but the cannibalistic Lecter escaped the muzzle after Starling was betrayed by Dr. Frederick Chilton (Anthony Heald).

Shots from the muzzling sequence - one of the most frightening and acclaimed chunks of the Academy Award®-winning film - appeared in key art and other materials throughout the film's promotional campaign. In 2001, the film was named No. 5 in the American Film Institute's "AFI's 100 Years..100 Thrills" list."

This lot consists of a detailed replica of the signature muzzle as well as a 16" x 20" (40.75 cm x 51 cm) poster of Lecter wearing his muzzle. The muzzle is signed in silver-colo ink while the poster is signed in black ink by Hopkins. The muzzle exhibits chipping and discoloration. Dimensions: 7.5" x 7.25" x 5.5" (19 cm x 18.5 cm x 14 cm)
