10 concept sketches of aliens hand-drawn by renowned concept illustrator Ralph McQuarrie for a 1987 Chevrolet commercial shot in Showscan. Showscan, a groundbreaking film process which utilized 70mm film photographed and projected at 60 frames per second, was created by legendary special photographic effects artist Douglas Trumbull. To market and showcase the process, Trumbull founded Showscan Film Corporation, which produced the commercial featuring benign extraterrestrials who abducted earthlings for a fun jaunt through futuristic ships designed by McQuarrie.

This set originated from the collection of Trumbull. It consists of 10 sheets of concept sketches, each depicting various aliens with one sketch also featuring a Chevrolet inside one of the alien ships. The set is rendered in graphite on paper and vellum with McQuarrie's signature and "Showscan Chevy" handwritten on seven sheets. These sketches exhibit discolouration from age. Dimensions: (largest) 30.5 cm x 43.25 cm (12" x 17")
