Two concept artworks of alien spacecraft hand-drawn by Ralph McQuarrie for a 1987 Chevrolet commercial shot in Showscan, a high-speed, large-format filmmaking process pioneered by visual effects master Douglas Trumbull. This advertisement depicted a benign abduction by friendly extraterrestrials whose futuristic ships McQuarrie designed.

This lot consists of two illustrations: a ship rendered in graphite, numbered "40," and annotated with design suggestions; another featuring two smaller illustrations of a ship rendered in mixed media and numbered "14." Both are labeled "Showscan Chevy" and signed by McQuarrie.

They exhibit bending and some tape residue. Dimensions: (each) 8.5" x 11" (21.75 cm x 28 cm)
