A collection of photographic slides, production paperwork and memos from Stanley Kubrick's horror classic The Shining.
This paperwork originated from Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, UK, where the majority of the film was shot. The lot comprises six photographic slides which show the full-size exterior facade replica of the Overlook Hotel built at Elstree, and a collection of various letters, memos, handwritten budget lists and other production ephemera. Many of the pieces are addressed to or sent from Andrew Mitchell, who was the studio's managing director at the time. Some of the letters are hand-signed by Mitchell and others, and several of the memos feature the printed signature of Stanley Kubrick.
The paperwork has wear from production use and age, including tears, rips and staining.
