A pair of printed storyboard folders from Stuart Gordon's unrealized adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Written by long-time collaborator Dennis Paoli, Gordon's film was set to have legendary and renowned makeup artist Dick Smith develop the makeup effects, before the project was ultimately shelved due to a lack of funding and studio interest, as revealed in an interview in the Fangoria #91 magazine issue. Gordon and Paoli would reunite to actualize a spiritual successor to the film, realized as the Spanish-language film Dagon (2001).
Created by visual effects artist Marty Kline, it consists of two printed storyboard folders. One folder, with features the scenes of the main character Ben's birth, Ben witnessing his wife Lori transform into a fish-like creature, and Ben being attacked by fish-like people. The second folder features scenes of Lori fully experiencing changing into a fish-like creature, Ben being drug under water by a fish-like creature, and later attacked by the fish-like people. The folder covers note director Gordon and production designer Ted Haworth with Kline and are both dated 1988. Dimensions: (each) 8.5" x 11" x 0.25" (21.75 cm x 28 cm x 0.75 cm)
