A "Stab" Ghostface mask from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett's Scream. Residents of Woodsboro watched scenes from "Stab" - one in a series of meta reenactments of the Ghostface murders portrayed in Wes Craven's original Scream - throughout the film, including when the real-world Ghostface attacked Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown) right as the movie version (Christopher Speed) of Mindy's uncle Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) was attacked by Stab's version of Ghostface. In the "Stab" scenes, the killer wore their ghostface mask as they attacked their victims.
The fifth installment in the Scream franchise, Scream was a well-awaited revival of the series. A box-office success, it received nine nominations, including an MTV Movie and TV Award® for Most Frightened Performance, which was won by Jenna Ortega. The Ghostface mask, originally based on Edvard Munch's The Scream, has become one of the most iconic villain disguises in film history.
This plastic Ghostface mask of the style seen in "Stab" was created by and originated directly from Fun World, the company that originally developed the Ghostface mask for sale in novelty stores and which licenses the masks to the production. Following production, it was released by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment to benefit the Brooke Jackman Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the literacy of disadvantaged children in and around the New York City area.
The mask features an attached black cotton hood and black mesh eye panels. The mask has production-made holes to secure the hood to the plastic and the back of the chin has a fine streak of special effects blood makeup. This mask exhibits some minor discolouration, some pilling to the cotton, and puncture marks on the plastic.
Additional Provenance: Letter of Authenticity from Fun World on behalf of the company, Paramount, and Spyglass.
Estimate: £6,000 - 12,000 Ω
