A screen-matched Ghostface mask from Wes Craven's Scream 2. Windsor College students Phil Stevens (Omar Epps) and Maureen Evans (Jada Pinkett), who shared names with victims from the Woodsboro Massacre, attended a preview of Stab, where they fell victim to the new Ghostface killer. Distinctive imperfections on this mask's cheeks and specific paint markings screen-match to Ghostface's first kills in the opening scene.
In Scream 2, a slightly redesigned version of the Ghostface mask from Fun World's "Fearsome Faces" line was used that had a notably altered eye shape and an indented chin. An enduring figure of horror in pop culture, Ghostface is one of the most recognizable villains in film.
Scream 2 is widely regarded as one of the strongest sequels in horror and among the greatest entries in the Scream franchise.
Originating from stunt performer Allen Robinson and coming to auction for the first time, this iconic mask is made of PVC with an attached cotton hood, black mesh-covered eyes, a blackened mouth and nose, and features the "Fun World Div" debossed on the backside of the long chin. The hood features a self-adhesive strip sewn onto the top to secure it to the robe during wear. The interior of the mask has notable black makeup residue around the eyes. Also included are two photographs: one a composite of behind-the-scenes photos of Allen Robinson in costume, and a second photograph still of Ghostface autographed by Robinson in white ink. This lot exhibits discoloration on the mouth. Dimensions: 14.5" x 8.5" x 3" (37 cm x 21.75 cm x 7.75 cm)
Additional Provenance: Letter of Authenticity from Robinson.
Estimate: $25,000 - 50,000
