A collection of production ephemera from Brian De Palma's Scarface. In 1980 Miami, Cuban immigrant Tony Montana (Al Pacino) rose among the drug cartels and succumbed to overwhelming greed.
This lot consists of 13 black-and-white production photo stills with 12 featuring handwritten notes on the backing rendered in graphite and ink; one color and one black-and-white photo of Al Pacino; a color print photo of Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, F. Murray Abraham, and Robert Loggia autographed by Loggia in black ink; two printed production signs with handwritten annotations in graphite; one index card marked "Scarface"; 32 color print set continuity photos; two production-made $20 and $100 bills; two hand-drawn concept sketches; one printed concept sketch with hand-rendered illustrations; two concept art prints each in an acetate and illustration board sleeve; one black leather hardcover book with a final draft screenplay cover dated October 29, 1982 marked "James Allen" and an American Cinematographer December 1983 magazine featuring Al Pacino as Tony Montana on the cover; and a black leather hardcover book featuring a final draft screenplay dated November 1, 1982 with 190 multicolored revision pages with some featuring handwritten annotations in red ink, three page staff and crew list, two maps, and a six-page locations list. This lot exhibits damaged material to the magazine book, stains on the photo stills, discoloration on the printed concept sketch, and peeling seams on the concept print sleeves.
