An Ironclad Civil War soldier skeleton used in the action adventure movie Sahara. Diving for a maritime heritage agency, diver Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) rescues World Health Organisation doctors Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz) and Frank Hopper (Glynn Turman), who are investigating a strange disease in the region. Hunted by local troops and corporate assassins, the group stumble upon a massive conspiracy – as well as lost treasure from the US Civil War.
Skeletons were used as set dressing onboard the Ironclad ship near the end of the film, when Dirk, Al and Eva Rojas discover the civil war battleship, also known as “the ship of death”, with many of its ill-fated crew aboard. This skeleton is crafted from bendable rubber with pliable aluminium running through the spine, arms and legs and has been realistically finished in paint to create the appearance of age and decay. The eerie skull head has random spouts of hair and the skeleton is broken into two pieces. The skeleton remains in good production used condition and is approximately five foot tall.
