A balaclava worn by Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.

This balaclava and gloves were worn by Lauda at various Formula One racing tracks before his terrible crash at the Nürburgring in Germany. The balaclava is made from cotton material and the gloves are made from a combination of leather and fire resistant aramid fibre. Made by OMP racing clothing, the gloves feature the OMP logo on each wrist and are labelled as size Large. Both items have been distressed featuring black and red faded marks. Distressed for use in production, both the balaclava and gloves remain in very good production-used condition.

These items are original assets used in the production of the 2013 film RUSH. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
