A collection of get well cards and drawings used in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.

Get well cards and drawings such as these would have been found in Niki Lauda’s hospital room after his horrific crash at the Nürburgring race circuit, with one card seen most notably whilst Niki has his bandages painfully removed. There are twenty-nine cards in total, with five featuring handwritten ‘get well’ messages inside. In addition, there are four children’s drawings and two small photographs that have each been printed onto paper, with a small amount of white tack residue on the back of the drawings from where they would have been secured to the set. There is a small tear in the corner of one of the drawings, but the items otherwise remain in excellent production-used condition, with the drawings measuring approximately 26 x 20cm (10.25 x 8”) each.

This prop is an original asset used in the production of the 2013 film RUSH. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
