A calendar used in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.

This calendar can be seen in Hunt’s apartment during his amorous encounter with Nurse Mills (Natalie Dormer) in his kitchen. The wire-bound 1972 ‘budgie’ calendar is made from thick paper with ‘Clearflight Pied Budgerigar’ printed on the cover. The same title and image of a budgerigar is printed on each month of year, with a hole on the bottom of each page for hanging purposes. The calendar remains in excellent production-used condition and measures approximately 18 x 25cm (7 x 9.75”).
