Robocop’s (Peter Weller) costume from Irvin Kershner’s futuristic sci-fi film Robocop 2. This costume was used in filming and the chest plate screen matches the Robocop 2 sequence in which Robocop is shot in the chest with a taser by Angie. The body armor elements are also believed to be from the production of the original Robocop, before being repainted for use in Robocop 2. The fiberglass helmet was likely made specifically for Robocop 2, as it is believed that all armor components on the original film were urethane. is believed to have been used a backup in the original Robocop before being repainted and used in Robocop 2; the costume screen matches the Robocop 2 sequence in which Robocop is shot in the chest with a taser by Angie. Phil Tippett is credited as an Associate Producer and for animation sequences on this title.

This is a set of twelve fiberglassurethane armor pieces, fiberglass helmet, and an foam and spandex undersuit. The pieces are intricately crafted, painted with a metallic blue finish, and were designed to be easily put on and removed. The helmet has had a latex face adhered into it to complete the look of the mechanical hero during stunt shots. A strip of velcro is adhered in the top of the helmet where it would attach to the performer’s headcap. The black undersuit is made of a polyester fabric with foam latex padding.

The suit shows considerable wear due to production use and age such as chipped paint and cracks across most of the pieces and the padding of the undersuit is extremely fragile, which appears crumbled away in spots. A black abrasion runs down the left side of the chest piece and pieces of the suit are attached with a metal wire. Noting the aforementioned wear, the piece remains in fair condition.
