A hand-drawn Robocop diagram and test prints and photographs from Irvin Kershner’s futuristic sci-fi film Robocop 2. Design and reference models and concepts were drafted by artists at Tippett Studio. Phil Tippett is credited as an Associate Producer and for animation sequences on this title. The paperwork in this lot relates to research conducted when creating a stop-motion Robocop puppet for the film.

This is a set of six photographs, ten printed pages, and one hand-drawn scale diagram of Robocop’s suit. The photographs show various angles of a model of Robocop as well as a close up view of an ED-209 canon with handwritten notes upon it. The printed pages consist of five images of Robocop, several of which are taped to the page and five pages showing a performer posing as though being choked. The diagram is drawn in black ink and outlines Robocop’s suit. A series of red lines is drawn within the body and limbs. The page signed ‘Blair / Robocop’ in the right corner, likely referring to the film’s armature machinist Blair Clark.

The pages show minor wear and the photos have slight discoloration due to age. The diagram page has been folded in half but the lot remains in overall good condition. Dimensions (pages): 11” x 8 ½” (28 cm x 22 cm);dimensions (photos): 4 ¼” x 3 ½” (11 cm x 9 cm)
