Hand-drawn Cain face concepts from Irvin Kershner’s futuristic sci-fi film Robocop 2. After being mortally wounded, the drug dealer Cain (Tom Noonan) had his consciousness implanted into a large mechanical body. The cyborg’s face would be displayed via a small screen concealed within the body. Phil Tippett is credited as an Associate Producer and for animation sequences on this title.

The lot consists of two sets of drawings exhibiting difference concept designs and three loose drawings. Both sets have printed screen borders with hand-drawn details within. The first concept features five drawings showing characters forming around an emerging face. The second concept features three drawings of a face coming into view on a screen. The loose drawings are on three separate pages, one with a face on a dark screen, another with pencil sketches of different screen styles and faces behind them, the last is a pencil and ink doodle of a cartoon creature holding an umbrella frame.

Some of the pages show minor rust staining from the paperclip used to bind them along with various small bends at the edges of each page but the lot remains in good condition. Dimensions (largest page): 12” x 9” (30 cm x 23 cm); dimensions (standard page): 11” x 8 ½” (28 cm x 22 cm)
