Robin's (Kevin Costner) longbow and arrows from Kevin Reynolds' 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. In the film, Robin of Locksley (Costner) returns to England after fighting in the Crusades, only to discover that his father has been murdered and the land has turned to turmoil under the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman). Joined by Moorish bodyguard Azeem (Morgan Freeman), Robin leads the poor in an uprising against the Sheriff and his men.
This bow and arrows set was made specifically for a sequence in the teaser trailer that features a close up of Robin firing his bow and the tracking shot of the flying arrow when Robin shoots with his bow and splits an arrow in two. The sequence received such praise that it was later included in a montage in the film's final cut. The bow itself is made of wood and features a taut string and faux leather wrapped around to serve as a hand grip. Two arrows made out of wood with metal tips and white fletching are also included.
The bow and arrow fletching shows some signs of wear from age and production use, but both remain in very good overall condition.
