A mechanical Rex puppet created for use in the unproduced film Rex. The film was set to follow the loveable Rex as he escapes his makers and is taken in by an unsuspecting family. This large puppet was created to portray the film's title character. The character has a metal, mechanical skeleton throughout, with a foam padded tail and legs, foam latex covered torso, fiberglass skull, and resin hands and feet. The puppet is fully equipped with an array of metal puppeteering wires, some of which still function when pulled, but are no longer hooked up to hand controls. The puppet is mounted on a wooden base. The figure shows damage due to age, with the foam latex now dry and fragile and similar residue found on the skull and spine, but remains in fair condition. Dimensions: 24" x 70" x 42" (61 cm x 178 cm x 107 cm)
